Long Lasting Loveliness

Moiety, Brooklyn

June 18 - July 17 2016

In Long Lasting Loveliness, Lowenthal presents sculptures based on a Victorian tea service set that becomes reconfigured into forms derived from social infrastructures, gestures, and the language of consumption and exchange. Historical forms such as butler sticks (used to set tables so as to not touch and tarnish silverware), glass saucers, and tea strainers are abstracted and deconstructed into discrete objects implying a stilted choreography.
