LL, LLC
LL, LLC is a New York-based jewelry brand founded in 2017 by interdisciplinary artist and designer Lia Lowenthal. LL, LLC’s signature use of the spiral motif is founded on the duality of both high quality and efficient design, while maintaining a form rich with archival references, ranging from antiquity to Art Deco. Lowenthal builds her vocabulary upon this method, using the spiral process to inform her pieces.
Lowenthal gained her knowledge of jewelry from both her artistic background and
working closely with the historic Taller William Spratling in Taxco, Mexico, widely
considered to be one of the most influential and intriguing silver jewelry designers of the twentieth century. Today, LL, LLC is produced both in-house and in the historic Diamond District in New York City.
Working actively between the art and fashion realms, Lowenthal’s artistic practice
explores how social histories become reproduced through the formal and functional qualities of objects; celebrating the timeless practice of jewelry making with a modern take on some of its most long-standing techniques.
LL, LLC has been featured in Vogue, the New York Times, Office Magazine, Allure, and The Fader, has collaborated with designers such as Martine Rose, and worn by celebrities such as Rosalia, Kendrick Lamar, Jacqueline Novak, Christine Sun Kim, and more. Its understated, astutely sculptural designs are unanchored in age or gender, admired and worn by artists, authors, and architects alike.
